Compliance

Part L and Part O of the Building Regulations are essential components of UK building standards, focusing on energy efficiency and thermal comfort, respectively.

England

Wales

What it covers

  • Part L sets the minimum energy-performance standard — buildings designed and built to cut energy use, carbon and running costs.
  • Part O governs indoor thermal comfort, so modern homes stay comfortable without overheating.
  • Meeting both lowers a building’s operational cost and improves the day-to-day comfort of the people in it.
  • An Energy Performance Certificate is required when a building is completed, sold or let — for new dwellings it comes from the same SAP model that proves Part L.

What we produce

  • Part L compliance reports for building control
  • Part O overheating assessments
  • SAP calculations for dwellings
  • SBEM modelling for non-domestic buildings
  • Energy Performance Certificates
